One more achievement for Valerie Hirschfield : Flyboard
Our patient Valerie Hirschfield never stops surprising us. Last summer, she took up a new challenge by trying flyboard.
She already surprised us when she ended a paddle race of several days in September, 2016 (Valerie Hirschfield’s remarkable challenge), when she walked from La-Seyne-Sur-Mer to Marseille (38 miles in 2 days!) last January and also when she tried snowboard last Winter ! But Valerie Hirschfield, who has been fitted with a prosthesis for 3 years only, once again surprised us when she decided to try Flyboard, a new trendy sport.
Helped by two French associations and fitted with our sport prosthetic knee Easy Ride, she put on a nautical jetpack connected to a jet-ski and took off, offering us some sensational pictures!
After a few falls, which is inevitable when one discovers a new board sport, Valerie finally managed to find the appropriate balance and propelled herself out of the water!
Today, despite the amputation, she can’t imagine her life without sports as she explained in a French newspaper: “I have always liked this. It was out of question to stop sports because of the disease. I experienced paddle, surf, windsurf, tennis, cycling, and snowboard during Winter! I need this to feel good, and here (South of France, ed.) all sports can be practiced, on the ground or the sea”. Inspired by the message of hope and confidence that followed her achievements, PROTEOR will stay at Valerie’s side in order to help her try as many sport activities as she wishes!
